LATEEF Dada-Bashua, a senior helper from the Lagos Subud group in Nigeria, Africa, joined me, Pak Harris Roberts, and Johan Frisman, on Friday evening, February 24, to the weekly group Latihan at Jatiwaringin, a group he also attended on his second day of arrival in Indonesia (January 27).
On Saturday night, February 25, Lateef will return to Nigeria, bringing with him so many beautiful memories that he said he just got on his fifth visit to Indonesia. He was very impressed with the experience of visiting a number of Subud groups on the island of Java and Central Kalimantan, doing Latihan at the Cilandak, Pamulang, and Rungan Sari Halls, attending the Subud Indonesia National Congress in Surabaya, and the moments of togetherness with Subud members of the so-called “Teras Timur (the east wing of Cilandak Hall) gang”, which were filled with sharing kejiwaan experiences which, according to him, were simply amazing.
Together
with that, what Lateef likes is that there is always brewed black coffee (kopi tubruk) and kretek cigarettes
which, according to him, are a characteristic when Indonesian Subud members get
together.©2023
